PASS or FAIL?
A Comprehensive Look at our Students' Educational Future
Districts around Oklahoma are preparing to help their patrons understand the grades that were assigned to schools under the state's A-F Grading System. A year after it was implemented, educators and parents alike still struggle to understand the system and how the grades are calculated.
However, aside from educating patrons about the A-F Grades and the numerous other changes being initiated by the State Department of Education, districts are also scrambling to educate patrons on the impact legislation will have on schools and budgets. Patrons have a right to know and understand the issues affecting their child's education, and the purpose of this series is to explain not only the letter grades received, but to also educate readers about the many other factors contributing to the state of public education in Oklahoma.
Over the next four days, a series of electronic documents will be released and posted to this website. Beyond simply providing factual information, this series is designed to equip patrons with the knowledge needed to initiate positive changes in public education. At the conclusion of, "Pass or Fail?" readers will find themselves knowledgeable with the facts necessary to become a positive advocate for their child and all other Oklahoma children.
